The minister stated that the RM 20 rebate is meant to assist and encourage Selangor citizens especially for senior citizens to obtain their vaccine. He also said that the rebate will be made available to 50,000 individuals throughout the state although the exact terms and conditions for the rebate was not revealed during the announcement. Nevertheless, he also pointed out that RM 1 million has been set aside for the Grab ride’s rebate which will be rolled out starting from 1 July 2021 onwards. As for rural areas as well as in places that are not covered by e-hailing services, the Community Service Centre (PKM) at all state constituencies will also provide transportation assistance to those who faced difficulties to make the journey to their assigned PPVs. Prior to this, Grab has already offered a similar promo to senior citizens with discounts of up to RM 8 for four rides which should be enough to cover both of their vaccination sessions. However, this offer is no longer available though as the verification process has already been concluded on 7 June 2021. (Source: Amirudin Shari / Facebook.
