The figure itself is called the Pikachu Fragment, which stands just shy of 30cm tall. There’s a lot of play on the number 25 going on as well. Not only is it the age of The Pokemon Company, it’s also the Pokedex number of the franchise mascot mouse. And since we’re sticking with the number, only 25 of these will be sold, and each is priced at US$25000 (~RM103,763). Beyond the Pokemon collaboration’s star piece there’s the smaller (and in my opinion the better looking) 14cm tall Pikachu figure with rounded curves that better represent the electric mouse than the sharp corners of the Fragment. And then there’s the crystal Poke Ball with gold mesh and a 7cm diameter. Neither of these are limited in number, and are priced at US$440 (~RM1826) and US$410 (~RM1702), respectively. If you’re a big enough fan of Pokemon to want any of these, unfortunately it doesn’t look like Baccarat delivers to Malaysia. And you’ll need to go to one of their stores to get the Pikachu Fragment anyway. But on the bright side, sort of, there’s an outlet in Singapore, and we’ll be getting quarantine-free air travel to our neighbour down south soon. (Source: Baccarat [1], [2])
