Earlier today, Creative Technology announced that Sim who was its Chairman and CEO passed away [pdf] yesterday at the age of 67. The role of interim CEO has since been assumed by the President of the Creative Labs Business Unit, Song Siow Hui while the company’s Lead Independent Non-Executive Director, Lee Kheng Nam has taken over as the acting Chairman. After Sim established Creative Technology as a computer repair shop back in 1981, the company has then developed a series of PCs called Cubic between 1984 to 1986....

Rather than an intimidating chrome cladded bipedal law enforcer, the Xavier robots are quad-wheeled autonomous drones with cameras (including one with 360-degree capability) and a display, which are more R2-D2-like rather than Robocop. According to HTX, should its cameras detect individuals exhibiting the aforementioned misbehaviours, the robots will trigger real-time alerts to the command and control centre. For clarity, the agency specified that offenses categorised as such include smoking in prohibited areas, illegal hawking, improper parking of bicycles within Toa Payoh Central’s HDB Hub, congregation of more than five individuals, and motorised active mobility devices and motorcycles on footpaths....

From the images, the supposedly upcoming model shares some similarities with the aforementioned EV, especially in terms of design language for its head and tail lights. However, the more obvious differences being the coupe-like roofline and larger size of the smart #3. In regards to the latter, the leaked document notes that the newer EV will measure 4.4 meters long, while a slightly longer 4.5 meters version also exists. While most specifications of the smart #3 are still not known at this time, the homologation document mentions that the EV will be offered with two motor options: an entry level version with an output of 154 hp, and a performance-oriented version with 272 hp – both of which are actually the same powertrains featured on the smart #1....

The person in question is a Swiss Robotics Masters student Ken Pillonel. There have been two major attempts. The first was a rough prototype all the way back in May which had most of the modification sitting outside the iPhone. More recently, he has managed to squeeze all the changes into the phone itself, and the port can be used for both charging and data transfer. While he never identified the specific iPhone that he is modifying, the process involved reverse-engineering a C94 Lightning connector....

From the patent, it looks similar to the current DualShock 4 controller, including the touchpad on its front. And what a looker the PS5 turns out to be. Like its DualSense controller, there’s a two-tone, black and white design going on. But it’s done in a slightly better way, with the white wrapping around the black middle segment. And where the two colours meet, Sony has placed the blue LED lights for extra flavour. The company has noted that the standard opening hours for both stores are 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. But before we begin, here’s the spec sheet, as shared by Sony: From this, we can see that, in terms of numbers, the PS5 is a little behind on the CPU and GPU department.
