Based on the chatters within the industry so far, the Mate 40 Series will be powered by HiSilicon Kirin 9000 5nm processor which is produced by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC). The processor will also feature built-in 5G modem which is not surprising given that the Mate series is one of the company’s flagship model. Other rumours also stated that the Mate 40 Series devices may feature rear camera module with up to four different sensors alongside dual front-facing cameras, curved display, and 66W fast charging capability. However, there were whispers that the series will only be made available for the global market in 2021 as the initial batch of Mate 40 devices have been made exclusive for release in China. Given the on-going sanctions by the United States on Huawei, the decision to release Mate 40 Series in its home market first is not exactly surprising. Nevertheless, let’s see what the company has to show on 22 October.
